3 things really stood out to me in Psalm 9
- What is the way in which we approach the Lord?
I have always found the best way to come to the Lord is with thankfulness and praise and this is exactly how David begins his song. Wholehearted thankfulness – recounting the Lords wonderful deeds – being glad, exulting in Him and singing His praises. Remember this is from a man who God says is after His own heart (Acts 13:22)!!!
- What do we learn about our Lord?
- Doer of wonderful deeds
- Righteous judge
- Enthroned forever
- Established His throne for justice
- Stronghold for the oppressed and a Stronghold in times of trouble
- Giver of grace and salvation
- Who is our enemy?
Enemies are mentioned a few times in this Psalm and often we can look around ourselves and see man, his actions and ungodly deeds and perceive him as our enemy. God reminded me of Ephesians 6:12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” ESV
Know your true enemy and remember that the battle belongs to God and victory is already won!!!
