PSALM 17: DANGER! INGOZI! GEVAAR!

David is in imminent danger; his life is on the line. He pleads with God to hear his cry for help. He reminds God that he is being honest. He asks God to vindicate him. He tells God all his good qualities to establish his righteousness and steadfastness.

He is really in a stressful place. It comes through very clearly that his trust is in God and only God. He ends by saying: “As for me, I will be vindicated and will see your face.” This I feel is a lesson to us, that even if we are falsely accused and absolutely innocent, our trust must be in God alone to vindicate and save us. The battle is always spiritual even when it has physical impact.
